Jack Tweed to stand trial for rape

Jade Goody's husband to remain in custody

Jack Tweed's wife Jade Goody died on Mother's Day

Jack Tweed is to face trial over accusations he raped a 19-year-old woman.

The widower allegedly met the teen at a nightclub before taking her to his east London home.

Yesterday, the judge at Snaresbrook Crown Court 'provisionally' fixed a two-week trial for 12 April.

Jack, 22, who was married to the late Jade Goody, will remain in custody until then.

A plea and directions hearing has been set for 22 December.

Jack, who will appear via video link, has already indicated through counsel that he'll deny the charge.
