Boyzone's tour plans have been put on hold

Ronan Keating admits the death of Stephen Gately has been harder to deal with than his own mum's passing.

The Boyzone frontman lost his mother Marie to breast cancer in 1998.

‘With my mum, she was sick for a while and we had almost two years to prepare for the end,' says Ronan, 32.

‘But with Steve, it was a shock and so sudden.'

Stephen passed away on 10 October while on holiday in Majorca.

‘It has been the hardest thing I have ever known - ever,' Ronan tells the Daily Mirror.

Boyzone plan to release an album in tribute to Stephen next year.
