Danyl Johnson's crisis therapy
He's said he wanted to win The X Factor more than anything else in life, but can he really cope with fame?
A source has told Now that 27-year-old Danyl's on the verge of an emotional breakdown due to the pressure of the competition.
‘Danyl's suffered from stress-related illnesses in the past, which were so bad he was in therapy,' our source tells us.
‘He had a nervous breakdown in 2004 after his boy band NV split. He really struggles with rejection, so he's probably in the wrong industry.'
Danyl failed to impress the judges with his rendition of Aerosmith's Don't Wanna Miss A Thing for the show's Rock Week.
He broke down again backstage afterwards - after a week of rumours he'd been bullying the housemates, it was all too much.
‘The show's bosses are aware of his past and since all the fuss over Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent they're switched on about dealing with vulnerable contestants,' adds our source. 'They've been keeping an eye on Danyl.
‘They called in psychologists this week and they're happy for him to continue now they've assessed him. All the contestants had psychological testing this year to ensure they could handle the pressure.'
