Ashlee Simpson to make Broadway debut

Actress to play the lead in Chicago

Ashlee Simpson is married to rocker Pete Wentz

Ashlee Simpson has landed a major role in the Broadway production of Chicago.

The actress will play Roxie Hart in the hit musical.

Ashlee, 25, will star in the show for six weeks from December.

She previously played the same part in London in 2006.

Last month, it was announced Ashlee is leaving Melrose Place in January.
