Sarah Jessica Parker plays Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City

Sarah Jessica Parker has been made a member of the US President's Committee On The Arts And The Humanities.

The Sex And The City star, 44, will act as an advisor on culture for Barack Obama.

Sarah has been appointed alongside 24 other high-profile figures, including actors Forest Whittaker and Edward Norton and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

They will be asked to promote projects that encourage US citizens to get involved in the arts.

‘Arts define who we are as a people,' says First Lady Michelle Obama, chair of the committee.

‘It provides an account of our history for the next generation.'
