Singer cancels series of concerts
Monday, 2 November 2009
Sir Elton John is being treated for E.coli and serious flu.
The singer, 62, has had to cancel three gigs in Seattle and Portland.
‘He has been advised by his doctor to postpone these performances due to a serious case of E.coli bacterial infection and influenza,' reads a statement on his website.
Elton - who is at a hospital in central London - is hoping to make a full recovery as soon as possible so he can hit the road again.
‘He has flu and is absolutely fine,' his spokesman tells the BBC.
The postponed concerts will be rescheduled.
