X Factor winner Leona comes to life at Madame Tussauds
Thursday, 22 October 2009
Leona Lewis fulfilled a childhood ambition today as her waxwork at London's Madame Tussauds was unveiled.
The 24-year-old singer's figure took four months to make and cost £150,000, but it looked every inch like the glamorous diva.
The X Factor winner from 2006 is portrayed clutching a microphone about to burst into song and people are invited to join the performance on stage.
It gives Leona something to smile about after being punched in the face by a deranged fan at her book signing last week.
Although no one can dispute Leona's singing talent, some critics have criticised her squeaky clean image as boring and manufactured by Simon Cowell.
One cheeky wag on an internet forum posted: 'Look out for Leona's waxwork's autobiography, out soon!'
A spokesperson added: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Leona to Madame Tussauds and her arrival confirms her status as a true international superstar.
‘She will be a wonderful addition to the Music Zone, claiming her place alongside Britney Spears, Amy Winehouse and Kylie Minogue.'

Please give it up about calling her boring. At least she's not full of s**t like most so called celebs. Leona is simply someone who is a private person and likes to avoid the media. If by interesting people mean going out without knickers on or shagging thick footballers, give me Leona any day.
I think its wrong that people think Leona is boring and manufactured. Compared to other stars with so called talents - Kerry Katona or Jordan - Leona is a dignified, humble, down to earth person with immense talent and is a far better role model to people than anyone. She is not boring and has actually has had an amazing life!! I think its really disgusting normal celebs are put down!!!!!!
