Will Smith: I want to star in EastEnders

Actor is a huge fan of the BBC soap

Will Smith's married to actress Jada Pinkett

Will Smith is interested in making a cameo appearance in EastEnders.

The actor became hooked on the show when he visited the UK to promote Seven Pounds.

‘I was just chilling in my hotel and EastEnders was on TV,' says Will, 41. ‘I didn't even know what it was, but I literally could not stop watching it...

‘It was so real and gritty. American soaps are all about the beautiful people and being cheesy. This soap had everything.

‘I'm a bit busy but when things quieten down I'd love to do a cameo. I could make a big entrance in the pub and be like: "Hey, girl let's take this outside".'

Will hopes the show will return to free TV in the States after it was axed by BBC America in 2003.

‘If the BBC boys are reading this, sort it out man, and start showing it again!' he tells The Sun. ‘Get it back on our TV screens.'
