Judge fails to contain her emotions

Lloyd Daniels comforted Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole was reduced to tears by Simon Cowell on The X Factor on Saturday night.

The music mogul laid into his fellow judge over her mentoring of Lloyd Daniels, 16.

He said her song choice of Leona Lewis's Bleeding Love was a mistake.

‘I blame the girl on my right,' said Simon, 50. ‘She's not working with you, understanding you properly, providing you with the materials to do well.'

With a lump in her throat, Cheryl, 26, admitted she'd made a mistake.

‘I'm going to take full responsibility,' she said. ‘I found it really tough this week...I hope I haven't let you down. I'm sorry.'

But Simon and Cheryl appear to have made up.

In last night's result show, he praised the Girls Aloud star for her performance of new single Fight For This Love.

‘It is going to pain me to say this, but that was incredible,' he said. ‘I would take you in my category any day. Unfortunately, you're going to be No 1 next week.'
