Man sectioned over Leona Lewis assault
A man accused of attacking Leona Lewis at a book signing has been charged with assault.
Peter Kopwalczyk, 29, allegedly punched the X Factor winner in the face on Wednesday.
He has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on 26 October.
Leona, 24, had been signing copies of her autobiography Dreams, but her visit was cut short.
‘I'm very sorry to those I wasn't able to meet at the signing,' she later told fans.
Leona pulled out of an appearance on The One Show and has cancelled a promotional trip to Germany.
