Penélope Cruz to appear in Sex And The City 2

Actress is snapped filming in New York

Penélope Cruz won the Best Supporting Actress award at this year's Oscars

Penélope Cruz is to star in Sex And The City 2.

The actress is expected to play a banker in the sequel.

Penélope, 35, was apparently snapped filming scenes at New York's Empire Hotel with Chris Noth, aka Big, earlier this week.

Liza Minnelli, 63, and Miley Cyrus, 16, are also appearing in the flick.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are all returning as the female leads.

Sex And The City 2 will be released in May 2010.
