Bulgarian man tells of horror at finding Stephen Gately dead

Georgi Dochev hasn't been able to sleep

Stephen Gately's death is not being treated as suspicious

A Bulgarian man was the first person to discover Stephen Gately's body.

The Boyzone star, 33, was found dead at his holiday home in Majorca after a night out on Saturday.

Georgi Dochev went home with Stephen and his civil partner Andy Cowles after meeting them at a bar.

'I was the one who found him,' he told the Daily Mirror. 'I am devastated. I came from the bedroom and found him dead and I woke his partner. He was white and very cold.

'I was the one who called the ambulance because Andy was too upset. It's awful, I am in shock and I cannot sleep for days. It is really upsetting. I have only known him for a while.'

Georgi has refused to go into detail about the hours leading up to Stephen's death. 

'This is not something that I want to talk about,' he added. 'Andy and I have been interviewed by the police. But I don't want to say anything else.'
