Danyl Johnson has forgiven Dannii Minogue for the 'barbed' remark she made about his sexuality in front of a live X Factor audience on Saturday night.

Danyl, 27, sang Dreamgirls hit And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going - normally sung by a woman - which includes the line, 'You're the best man I'll ever know'.

Dannii, 37, questioned why the singer had changed the lyrics.

She told Danyl, 'If we are to believe everything we read in the paper maybe you didn't need to change the gender reference in it'.

The X Factor hopeful, who admits he dates men as well as women, looked perplexed on the night but he and Dannii - who apologised on Sunday's results show - have now cleared up the misunderstanding.

'Like I said before, I am not ashamed,' Danyl has tweeted on his Twitter site. 'Dannii didn't mean any harm. We are all smiles. Night world.'
