Cheryl Cole has advised Alexandra Burke not to have a pooch.

The X Factor judge doesn't think it's a bright idea.

‘[Cheryl] talked me out of getting a dog the other day,' says Alexandra.

‘She said it's like looking after a child and I'd hardly see it.'

Alexandra, 21, is close to Cheryl, 26, and Simon Cowell, 50.

‘I saw him here at the label the other day,' she tells The Sun.

'He was having a grown-up meeting and his PA said I couldn't go in.

‘So I said, "Watch me!" and I burst into the meeting with all these men in suits.

'Simon went bright red and looked really uncomfortable.

‘But I didn't care, I walked right in there and shouted his name.'
