Elizabeth Taylor's heart surgery 'went perfectly'

Actress thanks her fans for their support

Elizabeth Taylor asked her followers on Twitter to pray for her before the operation

Elizabeth Taylor says her cardiac operation was a success.

The actress, 77, underwent surgery to fix a leaky valve this week.

‘My heart procedure went off perfectly,' she wrote on Twitter. ‘It's like having a brand-new ticker.

'Thank you for your prayers and good wishes. I know they all helped.'

Elizabeth's had two hip replacements in the past and had a benign tumour removed from her brain.
