Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell has been diagnosed with swine flu.
The singer has been prescribed Tamiflu as he recovers from the illness.
The group cancelled an appearance at the Pinktober Hard Rock Cafe signing in New York last night, an event raising awareness of breast cancer.
‘We were really looking forward to spending time with our closest fans and friends in NYC and take part in Pinktober, an unbelievable and important program,' Brian, 34, says in a statement to Us Weekly.
‘I hope we can come back soon and do everything we can to help.'
Fellow members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean are also taking the medication as a preventative measure.
Meanwhile, production on David Boreanaz's hit US show Bones has been shut down because of a swine flu scare.
