Kate Beckinsale named Sexiest Woman Alive

Actress thrilled with accolade

London-born Kate Beckinsale now lives in LA

Kate Beckinsale is the Sexiest Woman Alive, according to Esquire.

The actress has taken the accolade from last year's winner Halle Berry.

‘I like the idea of it,' Kate, 36, tells the mag. ‘I'm feeling that I must earn this.

'I need to go out and become much better at pole dancing or something.'

But Kate admits some people will give her stick over the award.

‘This whole notion of being named Sexiest Woman Alive is going to earn me quite a beating,' she adds.

‘You can't have that title with four brothers. I'll get wedgies. Headlocks. Noogies.'
