Jack Tweed is working seven hours a day in jail - as a toilet cleaner.
Jade Goody's widower gets around £7 a week for scrubbing the bogs, showers and other communal areas.
Jack's mum recently said he told her he wanted to kill himself when she visited him behind bars.
‘You wouldn't think that a job as a toilet cleaner would cheer someone up,' a prison insider tells the Sunday Mirror. ‘But it has helped Jack quite a lot.
‘Before hand he was stuck in a cell for 23 hours a day just stewing with his thoughts. It led him to talk about taking his own life and we were all really worried about him.
‘Now he's much better. But the guards are still keeping a close eye on him.'
Jack, 22, is on remand awaiting trial after being accused of rape.
