Peter Andre to visit injured troops

Singer wants to show his support

Peter Andre also wants to visit the British base in his native Cyprus

Peter Andre is planning to meet injured soldiers who have fought in Afghanistan.

The singer, 36, wants to visit a hospital to show his appreciation for their sacrifice.

‘We have been talking to the authorities about getting Pete in to see the troops in the next few weeks,' says his agent Claire Powell.

‘In particular those that have been brought back wounded from Afghanistan.

'They are sent to rehab centres including one in the South of England. That's where he will probably go to see them.

‘These are young guys who have suffered horrific injuries, even losing arms and legs. Pete wants to let these guys know they have not been forgotten.'

Pete is also interested in flying out to the war zone to show his support.

‘It was also suggested Pete might travel with Jordan, when they were together, to visit the troops in Afghanistan,' Claire tells the Daily Star Sunday. 'But logistically it could not be sorted out.

'I know Pete would still be up for going if the opportunity arose.'
