Her jealous' bandmates drove the singer out of her own band
Wednesday, 30 September 2009
Sugababes' Keisha Buchanan was pushed out of the chart-topping band by her ‘jealous' bandmates Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah.
Although it's Keisha, 25, who's often been accused of being a bully - something she's always denied - Now can exclusively reveal that she was the victim of a secret plot.
Heidi, 26, and Amelle, 25, secretly planned to oust Keisha, who founded the band when she was just 13 years old, and even had her replacement Jade Ewen waiting in the wings.
Amid rumours of bust-ups, things apparently came to a head between the girls shortly after they arrived in
LA two weeks ago to film their new video.
But insiders say that behind the scenes Amelle and Heidi had been holding secret talks for months and it was their management who suggested that Jade, 21, could step into Keisha's shoes.
A friend of Keisha tells us: ‘She's really hurt by what happened. They had a disagreement in the US, but she thought it was sorted out.
‘Keisha was the Sugababes - she's always been the key writing talent and the one who arranged the harmonies. She's straight talking and always wanted the best for the band, but it seems the others had been growing resentful.
'Everyone knew Keisha was the main talent in the band.'
The ambitious singer/songwriter is a savvy businesswoman who'll still reap the awards of the band's new line-up.
‘She's definitely going to have the last laugh - she owns part of the Sugababes name, so will still receive royalties,' reveals her pal.

If keisha was the main talent behind the Sugababes then why would savvy Management ditch her in favour of Heidi, Amelle & Jade? Fact is Keisha was overbearring when it came to Sugababes. Yes she only had the bands best intentions at heart, however both Management & Girls could no longer work alongside someone who felt they were queen bee. There has been many members past and present who have contributed equally to the success of the Sugababes. Keisha may have thought she was the SUGABABES but not everyone agreed. All girls contributed to the co-writting of Taller In More Ways & Change, however it was flop album Catfights & Spotlights that Keisha co-wrote most of. That album was done on the insistance of Keisha stating that Sugababes should return to their roots. New album Sweet 7 features very little co-writting for any of the girls.
They are really a tribute band. There are no original, members of the Sugababes left, the original idea and concept have now gone. The new members are all manufactured, and none of them are original members of the group. The new concept goes against everything the original band stood for. Where the original Sugababes were three teenaged school girls who had a dream of creating original music, writing and producing their own material they came about organically I am going to boycott the new line up album.
Well Keishan shall have the last laugh, without her the 'sugababes' have become just like every other image obsessed group. Keisha was always the best and strongest vocalist, plus Keisha is taking a lot of fans with her, and Jade has no fans to bring. The sugababes isn't even a group any more anyway, its a brand.
Yes she was the main talent regardless of what manegement did. Mutya buena repeated over and over that kiesha was not a bully, things were exaggerated just because they were jealous of kiesha's talent.
you know what i really lyked sugababes especially wiv mutya but when she left i kynda got put off but know when keisha has gone i seriously ent lyking the new sugababes and what has that emelle girl done to her self especially her hair???eyw.
