Judge says he still poses risk to kids
Thursday, 24 September 2009
Convicted paedophile Gary Glitter is not allowed to leave the UK.
The singer was deported to London last year after serving time for child sex offences in Vietnam.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court this week to seek permission to travel to the south of France for a two-week holiday.
But District Judge Timothy Workman imposed a six-month Foreign Travel Order on Gary, 65, real name Paul Gadd.
The court heard he'd not attended any programmes and a psychiatrist said he may reoffend.
'In the absence of any treatment the risks to children would be enhanced,' said the judge.
He also voiced concerns Gary would not return from the trip.
