Singer says his life's like the Girls Aloud star's

Peter Andre's album Revelation reached number three in the official UK album chart last week

Peter Andre has compared his dramatic year to the experience Cheryl Cole had in 2008.

The singer, 36, split from Jordan, 31, in May, but his career is on the up.

‘I remember Cheryl Cole saying last year that she'd had the best and worst year of her life, what with Ashley allegedly cheating on her and her huge success on The X Factor,' says Pete. 'And I feel a bit like that at the moment.

‘These past few months have been horrific on a personal level but on a professional level I've honestly never been happier.'

Pete admits tough times motivate him to do better.

‘I think personal heartbreak spurs you on to do well because you need to focus on other things,' he adds.
