Police in bid to stop him leaving UK
Wednesday, 23 September 2009
Convicted paedophile Gary Glitter appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday to seek permission to travel abroad.
The singer has become a recluse since he was deported back to London last year after serving time for child sex offences in Vietnam.
Now Gary, 65, real name Paul Gadd, wants to have a holiday in the south of France.
But Scotland Yard applied for a six-month Foreign Travel Order to stop him leaving the UK.
They fear he may try to sneak across the border into Spain.
Chief magistrate Timothy Workman adjourned the case to consider a decision.
