Jamie Lomas is now trim and slim again

Jamie Lomas may have been packing a bit of a paunch in recent weeks, but Kym Marsh's other half has been battling the bulge at a No1 Boot Camp at Carrington House in Norfolk.

The one-time Hollyoaks star has been working up a sweat and it looks like his hard work is paying off as he's definitely got the beginnings of a six-pack.

Jamie admits he piled on the pounds while on holiday in Cyprus with Kym, 33, this summer. ‘I was so exhausted I kept falling asleep on the sunbed,' he tells Now.

‘We had lots of nice dinners, so I needed to get fit again. This is a springboard for getting back into shape. They push you to the limit from morning 'til night.'

Jamie, 29, is taking his training so seriously, he's even thinking of following in the footsteps of Jordan's boyfriend Alex Reid and becoming a cage fighter.

‘I have boxing classes at the Wolf's Lair in Runcorn, where the big UFC Cage Fighters go,' he says. ‘I'd like to have a go, but it takes a while to master it. I've been doing it for a year now and I really enjoy it.'

It's been a difficult time for Jamie and Kym, whose newborn son Archie died in February.

Jamie says exercise helps him to cope with low moods.

‘Kym knows that when I'm not fit I feel down, so she keeps encouraging me. ‘She's happy for me just to be there, whatever shape I'm in.'
