Robert Pattinson prefers not to study his performance after he has completed a movie.
The Twilight heartthrob played eccentric artist Salvador Dali in 2008 art-house film Little Ashes and found it painful to watch himself onscreen.
‘It's like self-flagellation, so why would I bother?' he says. 'And I didn't want to piss on anyone's grave. It was hard to watch my first scene in which I turn up in this funny little hat.'
Robert also hates doing phone interviews and amuses himself by telling journalists a few white lies.
He cheekily claims: ‘I do really intellectually highbrow stuff in my downtime. I read first edition Shakespeare. I write poetry. I'm trying to get my masters in neuroscience. That's the kind of guy I am... '
All amusing fibs, he admits to The Guardian Guide.
'Man, I don't even know what a masters is.'
Watch Robert Pattinson in the Twilight sequel New Moon in cinemas from 20 November.
