Tennis star loses out in dance off with Rav Wilding

Martina Hingis insists her short time on Strictly was still a 'great experience'

Women's world No 1 tennis player Martina Hingis has been voted off Strictly Come Dancing - the first celebrity to leave the competition.

This year's series kicked off with a live show on both Friday and Saturday and couples had to perform two dances in their first week.

Martina, 28, and partner Matthew Cutler's waltz and rumba left them in the dance off with Rav Wilding and Aliona Vilani - and the judges decided to send the Swiss sportswoman home.

'It was a great experience, I learnt so much,' said Martina. 'I'll come back to London for some more lessons.'
