Robert Pattinson: I don’t let the maids into my hotel room

The Twilight star takes drastic measures to maintain a private life

Robert Pattinson is finding different ways to disguise himself

Robert Pattinson is not entirely comfortable with his newfound fame.

Since taking the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight, he's been pursued by teenage girls and the hysteria is growing.

‘I'm getting more conspicuous,' says Robert. 'I'm wearing two hoods, a hat and sunglasses, which kind of stands out in the middle of the night. So I'm learning to sprint.'

The 23-year-old likes to stay in anonymous hotels and uses fake names to register.

‘I don't let the maids in. I don't even pull the duvet down now because I don't want to see what's underneath,' he tells The Guardian Guide.

‘I was Clive Handjob in Paris. Everyone in the hotel called me "Monsieur Handjob".

'That was good, cheap fun.'

New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, is out on 20 November.
