Hip hop star talks about turbulent marriage

Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston have a teenage daughter together

Bobby Brown has responded to his ex-wife Whitney Houston's claims he verbally abused her.

The couple had a notoriously fiery relationship before they split in 2006 after 14 years of marriage.

But Bobby, 40, believes they were both to blame.

‘I think we corrupted each other,’ he says. ‘I don't think she hurt me or I hurt her.

'I just think we had a 14-year marriage that had its ups and downs and not many people understood it.’

Bobby insists he doesn't want to get into a war of words with Whitney, 46.

'If there's something that she says that is untrue or disrespectful then I'll deal with that with her,' he says in a VH1 Behind The Music special.
