Victoria Beckham defies David: I won’t quit LA

David’s determined to come home, but Posh has other plans

Victoria Beckham wants to further her success in the US

Anyone who thought Victoria Beckham’s appearance on American Idol was 
a sign that she and David are committed to staying in the US had to think again last week.

Becks, at least, is determined to leave America. Insiders are suggesting it could even happen by next summer’s World Cup. But his plans aren’t shared by his wife.

‘Victoria’s trying everything she possibly can to make her Hollywood life work out at the 11th hour,’ a friend tells Now.


‘Simon Cowell has told her that even if her guest appearance on American Idol – which won’t be screened until January – doesn’t work out, he’ll give her something else.’

Even so, the strain has been showing.

‘On 4 September, her Porsche broke down in Culver City and she just burst into tears,’ said our source. ‘She’s been busy looking after the kids while David’s been away playing football and it was all getting too much for her.’

According to those who are closest to her, 35-year-old Victoria is desperate for her life in LA to work out and she’s launched a furious mission to propel her career into the stratosphere.

‘Victoria was always more at home in LA than David was and she’d like to buy some more time to cement her A-list status in the US,' says our source.

'She understands that David needs to play in Europe for the sake of his football career, but she won’t accept that her Hollywood dream is over.’

Ashton & Demi: Posh’s new power friends

While the Beckhams have been courting superstar couples such as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett during their time living in the US, Posh has now turned her attentions to Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. The famous foursome plan to hang out in New York together and Ashton has even invited David to the premiere of her latest film.
