Rapper has apologised for his actions
Monday, 14 September 2009
Kanye West was booed by guests at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.
The singer, 19, was collecting the Best Female Video prize when the rapper grabbed the mic at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.
‘I'm sorry, but Beyoncé Knowles had one of the best videos of all time,’ he told the crowd.
Taylor was later given a second chance to talk when Beyoncé, 28, invited her back on stage after she won the Video Of The Year trophy.
Kanye has now apologised on his official blog.
‘I'm sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom,’ he wrote. ‘I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would've said.
'She is very talented! I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!
‘I'm sorry to my fans if I let you guys down!!!! I'm sorry to my friends at MTV. I will apologize to Taylor 2mrw [sic].’
The MTV Video Music Awards will air on MTV1 tonight at 9pm.
