Lady GaGa: My dad saved me from drugs

Singer says her father was the one to help her quit her habit

Lady Gaga is honest about her past

Lady GaGa says it was her dad that helped her kick her former drug habit - by warning her she was ruining her life.

‘He looked at me one day and said, “You’re f***in’ up kid,” she says. '...And he never said a word about the drugs, not one word.

'But he said, “I just wanna tell you that anyone you meet while you’re like this, and any friend that you make in the future while you are with this thing, you will lose.”

'And we never talked about it again.’

Lady GaGa says she regularly used to take 'serious' drugs.

‘I’m fine now,' she tells US website ShockHound. 'I can drink, and I’m not gonna say that I don’t party. But it’s not every day, and it’s no longer a tool for my creativity.

‘The label gets mad at me for talking about it – they say, ”We don’t want people to think that you’re not a pop star.”

‘But I am a pop star. I’m a pop star with a story.’
