Cybill Shepherd couldn't see a future with Elvis Presley

Cybill Shepherd ended things with Elvis Presley when he gave her prescription drugs.

The actress dated the rock legend briefly in 1973.

‘I saw the drug addiction,’ says Cybill, 59. ‘Once, when it was time to go to bed, he said to me, “Take these pills” and he had these pills in his hand.

‘He said, “I’ve already had mine.” I flushed them down the toilet. After that I returned his emerald and diamond ring. It was over.’

But Elvis failed to get the message and tried to woo Cybill back even after she fell for director Peter Bogdanovich.

‘He said, “If we’re going to be together you’re going to have to get rid of Peter,”' she tells Access Hollywood. 'It hadn’t sunk in with him that we were finished.’
