Coronation Street star called police after grisly find

Samia Smith is expecting her first child with husband Matthew

Pregnant Samia Smith has been left shaken after discovering a dead body.

The Coronation Street actress and husband Matthew spotted the lifeless 26-year-old man in the back of a parked Vauxhall Combi van in Greater Manchester yesterday.

Samia, who plays Maria Connor in the soap, immediately called the cops.

‘Inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the man's death are under way,’ Greater Manchester Police tells the BBC.

‘His family are in the process of being informed.’

A Corrie spokesperson adds that it now ‘a police matter’.
