Pete Burns has accepted £450,000 damages from a plastic surgeon after he suffered a startling reaction to a procedure carried out on his lips.
Maurizio Viel of the London Centre For Aesthetic Surgery admitted negligence in the out-of-court settlement.
Pete, 49, says he's had to have over 18 months of corrective surgery in Genoa, Italy, to deal with the damage caused by the lip filler injections administered by the Harley Street doctor.
'I am just glad the case is now over,' he says. 'It is a terrible experience...to have to re-live and recount the details and circumstances of how your injuries happened for the purposes of evidence for the court.'
The Dead Or Alive singer, who was left with swelling, blisters, discharge and lumps, is likely to need further treatment.
'Pete's life and career have been severely affected as a result of this negligence,’ his solicitor Auriana Griffiths tells the Daily Mail.
Dr Maurizio's lawyer Majid Hassan has confirmed that the case was settled out of court and 'certain admissions had been made'. He refused to discuss the details.
