As Kym Marsh's career goes from strength to strength, Jamie Lomas is left in the shadows

Former singer Kym Marsh's acting career is in full swing, but partner Jamie Lomas has so far failed to crack Hollywood

Only four months ago, Jamie Lomas set out to swap Hollyoaks for Hollywood as he and partner Kym Marsh looked to become the new golden couple of the celeb world.

The pair survived personal tragedy when their baby son died moments after being born 18 weeks prematurely last February.

Three months later Jamie left Hollyoaks, setting his sights on bigger and better things. But since then, while Kym’s star’s been rising, the same hasn’t been true for the hunk she scooped up after splitting with ex Jack Ryder.

‘Kym is hard working and strong,’ a well placed source tells . ‘She’s been hammering the gym to maintain her figure. 

‘Jamie used to be in top shape himself, but he’s put on weight in recent months and hasn’t managed to shift it.'

And it’s not only in body confidence that Corrie star Kym, 33, is at her peak right now. New storylines, which started filming last week, include Kym’s character Michelle hooking up with a new hunk on the street.

In contrast, the last thing Jamie did was a charity football game,’ the source continues.

‘Kym’s more popular than ever on screen and who knows what that might lead to in the future.'
