John Mayer has been visiting Jennifer Aniston of the set of her new film The Bounty

After five months of playing the poster girl for lonely, desperate women, Jennifer Aniston can’t resist her ex-lover John Mayer.

Now can exclusively reveal that the 40-year-old actress has been seeing the musician for clandestine sex sessions in New York.

John, 31, flew in from LA and, disguised to avoid paparazzi attention, entered Jen’s penthouse suite at The Four Seasons Hotel.

Our source says: ‘John flew to New York in the middle of August for 48 hours to spend time with Jen while she was filming.

'He managed to give the paparazzi the slip and the couple spent time talking. John left convinced it’d be worth giving things one more shot.

‘Of course, talking wasn’t all they did; their relationship’s always been based on great sex. Jen says she hasn’t met a guy who’s had this effect on her before – John’s the best lover she’s had. That’s why she’s glad to go back.’

Friends say John’s been calling Jen throughout the summer, pleading with her to take him back. The actress agreed to the reunion two weeks ago as she’d never been able to draw a line under their 18-month on-off affair, despite rekindling her friendship with ex-husband Brad Pitt and dates with co-stars Gerard Butler and Bradley Cooper.

Our source reveals: ‘John's previewed his new recordings for Jen, where he’s pouring his heart out about their relationship. That’s helping them to figure out if they have a future together.’
