She's looking slim and sexy - but she's still rowing with Gavin

Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson are working at their relationship but it's tough

When Charlotte Church stepped out with Gavin Henson at the V Festival in Chelmsford it was the perfect opportunity to put on a harmonious display.

But as the drinks flowed, things didn’t seem quite right between the couple.

While Charlotte was sitting with a circle of female friends in the VIP area before going back to her tent, Gavin, 27, was partying separately with his mates, drinking ’til 5am.

They stayed separately, even though they had the use of a luxury yurt in the VIP section and could’ve stayed in it together.

‘Problems seem to start with those two when there’s booze involved and the free drinks were definitely flowing in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge VIP section,’ says our source.

‘Gavin was absolutely hammered and was even heckling a DJ at one point. He relieved himself against a fence because he couldn’t be bothered to go to the toilet.

‘They’ve done a lot of work on their relationship behind closed doors, but it all goes to pot when they’re out with mates and everyone’s had a skinful.

'Charlotte would like Gavin to do more at home and it doesn’t help when they go out and he totally overdoes it. She’ll turn a blind eye in public, but she was annoyed.’

Looking the slimmest we’ve seen her since before she became mum to Ruby, two this month, and Dexter, eight months, Charlotte partied with friends.

‘She’s not only been walking, swimming and jogging to get to a size 10-12, but she’s also been putting a lot of effort into her look, such as having blonde highlights,’ says a source close to the 23-year-old singer. ‘Gavin’s more interested in the showbiz side, but she feels better if she’s looking her best.’

While Gavin’s rugby future hangs in the balance, Charlotte’s preparing to get back into the public eye. Close sources say she’s keen to rekindle her pop career and there’s talk that she may replace disgraced Kerry Katona as the face of Iceland.
