Jordan snaps: Back off, Alex!

They’ve only been dating for five minutes, but there’s already trouble for Jordan and her new man

Jordan is finding it hard to deal with Alex Reid's behaviour

All is not well between Jordan and her new man Alex Reid.

At the press launch for her new show What Katie Did Next, Jordan, 31, refused to answer questions about Alex, insisting: ‘The show’s about me – not about me and Alex.’

And it was clear from the programme that she’s only too keen to enjoy her new-found freedom – even in a week where Alex’s declarations of love were all over the papers.

The next day, news broke of Jordan’s fling with Brazilian banker Andre Pinto and Alex, 34, hit the roof.

Our source says: ‘He went mad and said: “I’m not soft like Pete. I won’t put up with seeing you in the papers with other men.” He raised his voice so much that everyone in the house heard. He doesn’t want her around other guys, especially not on the front of newspapers.

‘He’s now insisting that Jordan only does photo shoots and tabloid stories with him, not on her own.

‘Jordan didn’t like this one bit and is now thinking it’s only a matter of time before she’ll ditch him. She may have accepted his dictatorship so far, but she won’t be told what to do, especially with other men.'

Friends feared Alex had her under his spell ever since they met on Facebook before Michelle Heaton’s birthday party. But now she has her eyes on another couple of men and still lists herself as single on Twitter.

‘There’s one guy she really fancies, but she’s being coy about who it is,’ says a friend. ‘Ultimately, she and Alex are really jealous of each other and don’t trust each other an inch. It’s unhealthy.’

This was one reason why a planned wild night out last Wednesday in London, starting with a meal in Nobu and ending in nightspots Mahiki and Movida, was axed at the last minute.

Jordan was also keen to train for the New York Marathon and she worked up a sweat the next day at the Fight Skool gym in Hove. As ever, Alex was by her side.

Friends think this isn’t what Jordan really needs or wants. So far, Alex has papered over the cracks left by the breakdown of her marriage to Peter Andre, 36, but friends and family aren’t keen on him as a replacement.

‘Alex isn’t popular because he talks to women as if they’re morons,’ says our source. ‘We’ve no doubt that he sees Jordan as more of a meal ticket than marriage material. Don’t forget, before he met her he was a penniless loser who lived with his mum.’
