Davina McCall: I cried when I heard Big Brother was ending

Show's host was shocked by the news

Davina McCall has already found another job fronting Sky's Just Dance

Davina McCall burst into tears when she found out Big Brother was being axed.

Channel 4 has confirmed it is to drop the reality show in the wake of poor viewing figures. 

‘I heard the news when my producer phoned me,’ says Davina. ‘It came as such a shock. I just felt really sad. Then I cried for a bit and my husband was being very nice to me all day.

'I felt like I was grieving the loss of a friend. It was weird. I seriously thought the show could run forever.’

The final series will be aired next summer and Davina, 41, is keen to do something special to mark it.

‘I definitely want to go in there at some point,’ she tells the Sunday Mirror. ‘I'm not sure in what way, but it could involve some shenanigans in the house.

‘I'm going to just really have a laugh with it and send it out with a proper bang! I might streak through the house or something like that.’
