Remembering Princess Diana

We pay tribute to the Princess of Wales on the anniversary of her sad death

Princess Diana 1 July 1961 - 31 August 1997. The Princess of Wales died in Paris

It's 12 years since Diana, Princess of Wales, passed away after being fatally injured in a car crash.

Today, 31 August, she will be in many people's thoughts.

The princess - photographed here just a few weeks before her death - was travelling with boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed when their Mercedes hit a pillar under the Pont D'Alma tunnel in Paris.

Dodi and chauffeur Henri Paul also died but bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones survived.

Prince William, now 27, was just 15 when he lost his mum and Prince Harry, 24, was only 12.
