Louis Walsh is delighted JLS have been so successful.

The X Factor judge mentored the group in last year’s competition.

‘I’m so pleased and proud of JLS,’ he says. ‘They worked so hard on the show last year and have worked extra hard since it finished.

‘As a group they deserve every success.’

Last month, the boys' first single Beat Again went straight to No 1 in the UK charts.

Louis, 57, hopes to win The X Factor with his category this year.

‘I’ve already said on record the Over 25s are great this year so I would like to mentor them,’ he says.

The 6th series of The X Factor kicked off last night on ITV1.
