TV presenter had an overactive thyroid
Friday, 21 August 2009
Kirsty Gallacher lost some of her hair when she had her son Oscar in 2007.
The TV host, who is expecting her second child with fiancé Paul Sampson, was also exhausted and her weight plummeted.
‘I’d gone back to work just six weeks after he was born and put myself through too much,’ says Kirsty.
‘My hair was dropping out in huge clumps, my skin was awful and whenever I bent down to change Oscar’s nappy, I couldn’t get back up.’
It turned out Kirsty, 33, was suffering from an overactive thyroid and anaemia.
'I had twice as much thyroxin going around my body than I should have, which was dangerous,' she tells Hello! 'I took seven months to level out.'
