Peter Andre makes shock move: I won't divorce you, Jordan

Hope of a ‘quickie divorce’ is fading as the fallout from Pete and Katie Price's split intensifies

Peter Andre says he was never unfaithful to Jordan during their marriage

Jordan and Peter Andre’s bitter divorce battle spilled out of control last week.

Not only is he battling to strike a financially beneficial deal for himself, he’s also said to be struggling with his decision to leave his family home now that he’s seen his children publicly paraded in the arms of his wife’s new lover.

Watching his family frolic in a London park without him must have stung. Friends say it would’ve felt ‘like a knife in the heart’ to Pete.

He recently said that he doesn’t want other men near his kids, but Jordan thinks he’s getting what he deserves. Now spoke to numerous sources to get to the bottom of what’s going on with the warring pair and all revealed a sorry picture.

Peter’s pull is weakened without Jordan, so one insider says he’s not interested in a ‘quickie divorce’, adding: ‘Jordan wants this done and dusted by November, but she’s got no chance of that.

'Why would he not want to drag it out for the sake of his career? He’s always said that he’s not after her money, but he won’t make half as much without his wife.

‘This makes her really angry. She can’t help but feel that this split has been a year in the planning, even if Pete and his people all deny it. She feels robbed by all sides because the biggest financial loser in this divorce is her.

'Everyone’s making a fortune from this. Jordan wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth – she worked all her life for her money and now she fears losing it in a costly break-up.’

In a week when Pete was determined to talk about his music, he became stuck in a trap of having to talk about Jordan – and eventually his vow of ‘no mud-slinging’ fell apart spectacularly. He’s been relentlessly criticising his wife as part of a huge promotional campaign for his comeback single Behind Closed Doors, which he’s finally admitted is about him and Jordan.

Considering that Peter said he wouldn’t ‘ever spill the beans’ about the break up, he’s made up for lost time.

Last Monday, Peter started his onslaught with a front-page headline in The Sun stating: ‘Jordan is disgusting.’ 

On Tuesday, The Mirror led with a Pete interview headlined: ‘Katie Who?’ and said she was ‘offensive’.

Then, on Wednesday, he insinuated in the Daily Star that she’d cheated on him, saying that he ‘couldn’t really answer [that] question’ about being faithful. He also slammed Jordan in his magazine column, saying that ‘She’s linked to so many men, I can’t keep up,’ suggesting his wife was sleeping around.

The 36-year-old also hammered Alex Reid, saying: ‘What I do know is that he’s ugly. He’s clearly not an attractive man. You can’t argue with that.’ This stung Jordan, 31, into retaliation and on Thursday she claimed through a friend that his criticism was the lowest of the low.

Last month, she confessed their relationship had become nonexistent and they had to communicate through lawyers because: ‘He just calls me a slut and a whore – he doesn’t want to talk to me.’

Peter’s constant sniping could backfire, as Jordan’s management are now considering suing him, according to our well-placed source in the Jordan camp.

‘He says he’d never do anything to affect the kids, then calls their mother disgusting. That’s grossly unfair,’ says our source. ‘His management threaten legal action against anyone who writes negative stories about Peter, but it’s OK for him to slag off his wife. We have to defend ourselves. If it’s down the legal route, so be it. It’s a shame it’s become such a horrible mess.’
