Aerosmith will not resume their tour following frontman Steven Tyler's stage tumble last week.

The rocker, 61, is nursing a broken shoulder and has stitches in his head after falling during a concert in South Dakota on 5 August.

Steven has been ordered to take time out to recover after consulting his doctors in Boston.

‘I'm plain grateful that I didn't break my neck,’ he says in a statement.

Fans will be entitled to refunds for the gigs scheduled in Canada and the US until 16 September.

‘We never anticipated this tour coming to such a swift and unfortunate ending,’ adds guitarist Brad Whitford.

‘Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steven for a speedy recovery and return to good health.’
