Connor Cruise will get military training for part

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s adopted son has landed a lead role in a bloody war drama.
Connor Cruise, 14, will play Darryl Bates in a remake of 1984 flick Red Dawn.
The movie – to be directed by Dan Bradley - is about a group of teens who become guerrilla fighters.
Connor, who made his acting debut in Will Smith’s Seven Pounds last year, will receive military training for the part.
Red Dawn starts shooting later this year in Detroit and is due to be released in September 2010.
Tom, 47, also has adopted daughter Isabella, 16, with Nicole, 42.
