Preston: Philosophy helped me get off prescription drugs

Singer says he was taking sleeping tablets

Preston's new single Dressed To Kill is out now

Ex-Ordinary Boys frontman Preston tackled his prescription pill addiction with the help of philosophy audio books.

The singer took sleeping tablets after the breakdown of his marriage to Chantelle Houghton in 2007.

‘I was doing so many drugs I didn't know who I was,’ Preston, 27, tells The Sun. ‘I was a zombie for months.

'The pills I popped meant I had no memory of what I was doing. I woke up at home so many times with cuts all over my body and no idea where they came from.

‘So I got engrossed with Malcolm Gladwell and Oliver James.

'They write accessible books about philosophy and sociology and these kept me sane while going through withdrawal.’
