Shakira: Sex is the ultimate human expression

Singer says all women have an animalistic urge

Shakira has been with boyfriend Antonio De La Rua for 9 years

Shakira believes 35 is the age females really blossom.

'The great poet Ovid said women were really women after age 35,' she explains. 'I haven't gotten there yet but hopefully the words fo the poet are right.'

It's confidence that makes all the difference, she reckons, and learning to enjoy the pleasures of the flesh.

‘Women have this primary, basic, animalistic urge. It goes beyond sex,’ Shakira, 32, tells The Sun.

‘Freedom is more than a state of mind, it relates to many different parts of out lives - not only sexual pleasure. Sex is the origin of life, the ultimate human expression.'

Shakira's new single She Wolf is released on 23 September.
