Joe Jackson: I won't be involved in raising Michael's children

Thriller star’s dad issues statement

Joe Jackson insists he will play no part in the upbringing of son Michael’s 3 kids.

The 80-year-old’s wife Katherine has been granted permanent custody of Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7.

Now Joe – who lives separately from Katherine, 79 - has made it clear he won't the new father figure in their lives.

‘I have had a close family relationship with these grandchildren since their birth,’ reads a statement.

‘I do visit the family residence from time to time and will continue to do so, however I will not be involved in raising the children.

‘I understand that all decision-making authority regarding the children will rest with Katherine Jackson. She is a wonderful caretaker and guardian, and has done an excellent job raising our children and other grandchildren.’

When he was alive, Michael accused his dad of beating him as a child – claims that Joe has always strongly denied.
