Meryl Streep has been married to Don Gummer for 30 years

Meryl Streep wanted to get hitched to Prince Charles when she was young.

The Mamma Mia! star liked the idea of becoming royalty.

‘When I was a kid I wanted to be a princess and marry Prince Charles,’ Meryl, 60, tells the Daily Mail.

'When I met him I told him about it and said I was sorry it didn’t work out between us. But I’m not really sorry.’

Charles, 60, is now married to Camilla Parker Bowles.

Meryl tied the knot with sculptor Don Gummer in September 1978.
