Michael Jackson may have wanted to play Spider-Man on the big screen.
Stan Lee, 86, says the star had discussed his desire to make the movie.
‘I had been to his place in Neverland,’ he told MTV. ‘He wanted to do Spider-Man.
'I'm not sure whether he just wanted to produce it or wanted to play the role.
‘Our conversation never got that far along. He thought I'd be the one who could get him the rights.’
Michael, a huge comic book fan, also wanted to buy publishers Marvel with Stan in the late 1990s.
‘We had met a number of times,’ he said at the Comic-Con event in San Diego.
‘In fact, he came to my house once with his son, and I remember my wife took care of his son for about an hour while Michael and I were talking.’
